Why Eat breakfast?

Why eat breakfast? breakfast

In chinese medicine theory, energy concentrates at a different organ every 2 hours. 7-9 am is the peak time for digestion, when energy converges in the stomach. Choosing warm, or easy to digest foods is best, since your food will be converted into energy more quickly. Such as:

  • Soup or broth
  • Rice congee (A traditional Chinese Rice soup)
  • Grain Porridge (millet, quinoa, oats, amaranth)

If you tend to get hungry easily, or you are about to do a lot of physical activity, adding protein and fats is a good way to help stabilize your appetite and keep your energy levels stable. Such as:

  • nut butters
  • eggs
  • lean meats
  • beans

Hope you all had a great breakfast. If you’re looking for oatmeal ideas, check out Cookies and Chemistry’s blog post:http://cookiesnchem.com/oatmeal/.
